The Original PJ’s Pizza in New Martinsville, WV Has New Owners!
New Martinsville, WV – New Owners! Fans of The Original PJ’s Pizza in New Martinsville will see a few new faces when picking up their pies. PJ’s has announced new ownership by Rob and Erika Donaghy. They took over the hometown favorite on Monday, June 27 from longtime owners Dan and Nancy Welch.
The Original PJ’s Pizza is a carryout style pizza and sandwich shop that Ohio Valley residents have loved for decades. The mouth-watering taste of PJ’s special recipes will remain the same says new owner Rob Donaghy. “The recipes and ingredients have been beloved since 1969. We wouldn’t dream of changing something that works so well. We know this is the first stop for people coming home for the holidays and we want to make sure they get the PJ’s they have enjoyed since childhood.” Menu favorites include PJ’s Special, a square 16” pizza with pepperoni, onions, green peppers, hot peppers, sausage, and a special seasoning called “The Shake”, and the PJ’s Works, a sandwich loaded with green peppers, hot peppers, onions, black and green olives, mushrooms, ham, sausage, and pepperoni.
At PJ’s, you can watch your order being made by their great team of employees, some of which have worked there for over 10 years. The shop also features Pepsi products and Mr. Bees potato chips, the only WV made potato chip.
PJ’s was opened by former owner Dan Welch’s father on May 31, 1969 and is named for his father, Jack and mother, Pat. After finishing school, Dan took over the business and made it the favorite pizza shop for decades of pizza lovers.
“After 47 years it’s time for me to go fishing and I feel my business is in wonderful hands so I can spend time my other love, professional bass fishing. I hand-picked Rob because of his tenacity, food knowledge, and willingness to work hard. I think Rob will take PJ’s to the next level. I believe in him.”
Former Owner Dan Welch has been a professional bass fisherman for 25 years, and the Fishing League Worldwide FLW winner with the top win in the South Carolina Lake Murray Citgo Bassmaster Southern Open.
